To help alleviate parking congestion again this year, NJIT University Operations has secured 155 additional parking spaces at Essex County College. These spaces are on the top level (roof) of the Essex County College Parking Deck located at 193 Academy Street, Newark, NJ 07103.
Valid NJIT parking permits must be displayed to use this parking. Valid NJIT photo ID cards can be tapped at the Academy Street entrance gate until 155 vehicles have entered the lot. Upon capacity, the lot full sign will illuminate until capacity becomes available again. The Essex County College Police Department will conduct periodic patrols of the parking deck to ensure safety, check for valid permits and verify that NJIT vehicles are parked on the top level.
Important: Please be certain that your NJIT parking hangtag is clearly visible while parked on the top level (roof) of the deck. Vehicles without proper identification (or parked on other floors) may be subject to ticketing.
